If you don't know where you're going, how will you know when you get there?
This is one of those many things my grandmother used to say that somehow made sense. Her point was that people need to have goals, and before you start out on any journey, whether it is a plan for employment or a family vacation, you better have a good idea of where you want to end up. An IPE is easily confused with an IEP but it is not the same thing. An IEP is written with the school. An IPE is written with a vocational rehabilitation program.
Individuals receiving services from vocational rehabilitation must be served under an Individual Plan for Employment. Following grandmother's advice, we recommend you start your IPE with defining the goal.
