INFORMATION ON SPECIFIC DISABILITIES
The Spirit Lake Consulting website includes hundreds of web pages on specific disabilities as well as numerous documents including fact sheets, life stories from people with disabilities and their families, recommended teaching strategies and much more.
Below are links to the web pages on our site for the disabilities for which we most often receive requests for information. The Specific Disabilities Section of the Virtual Library includes web pages on (surprise!) specific disabilities, such as Asperger's, Down Syndrome, etc. The Virtual Library "bookshelves" like bookshelves in any library, are where you find books, articles and other printed material. You can click on the links on any bookshelf to read the whole book or article. Links to other resources (fact sheets, etc.) are on the next page, followed by links to pages not on our site but which we have reviewed and found useful.

- Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, with resources starting here ,is enough of a major concern in Indian country that we have included more than one page. FAS is found among all races, and in the richest and poorest of families.
